Fabulous Wedding Workshop

Posted on February 23, 2010

So as I am always one to want to learn as much as I can, I attended an all day Wedding Workshop in Chicago, IL.  During this workshop I learned fun new techniques for lighting, posing, and interaction with our couples.  The models used during this workshop were absolutely fabulous and wonderful!  I can’t wait to apply everything we’ve been learning to this seasons weddings.  Here’s a couple images I took from the workshop, I hope you enjoy!

Nina… Our Protector.

Posted on February 2, 2010

With the New Year upon us and moving too fast already, I told myself I would write a little every week.  Not just about weddings, photography and the like, but also a little about who we are, in hopes it helps define who we are and the life we live.

So with that said, today’s blog is about our Protector, Nina.  She is our 6 year old German Shepard.  She became a part of this family when she was just 5 months old.  Since day one she has been the best dog ever.  Don’t get me wrong, she definitely has tested us, seen how far she can push us, and has definitely been called a “bad dog” every so often.  But even though those times come and go she has never let us down.  She watches over my children and warns anyone coming to the house that she is here.  Her bark is a ferocious one, often times making people think twice about even approaching her, but behind that bark is the most sweetest, loyal, and loving dog ever.

So today, my tribute goes out to our Protector, Nina.  We love you!

“Heavy Metal” Photoshoot

Posted on January 30, 2010

As we, Bill and I, are always looking for ways to learn, expand and broaden our photography skills, I attended a photo shoot last Sunday on the 17th.  Bill, being the awesome guy he is, stayed home so he could take care of the kids, as I went out and played.  I just adore him!!

The theme of this photo shoot was called “Heavy Metal” and let me tell you it certainly was “Heavy Metal”.  A local photography group, STUN, was the host of this shoot.  They rounded up around 50 models, had hair and make-up stylists on hand, and had costume changes throughout the shoot.  They also brought in some vintage cars and the shoot took place at a real working machine shop.  From 12-4, we photographers could shoot to our hearts content using anything and everything the place had to offer.  Creativity was a must and I must admit I was like a little girl in a theme park.  Every time I turned around I saw new opportunities, amazing models and great ideas other photographers were coming up with.

I had so much fun at this amazing event that I wanted to share with our fans some of the images that were created from this day.  I have to admit; this day reminded me of why I love photography and definitely got my creative juices flowing again.

We hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed creating them!

A New Year’s Wedding = Jake & Kaity

Posted on January 9, 2010

What better way to ring in the New Year than to get married!  I can see a few benefits to this: it wouldn’t be hard to remember your anniversary and it’s always a reason to celebrate!

Jake and Kaity’s wedding was exquisite.  Nothing more needs to be said…  My breath was taken away as soon as I saw Kaity for the first time in her dress.  Jake, of course, was looking very handsome as well.  Bill and I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding party as they were fun, willing to do whatever, and of course very photogenic.  A photographer’s dream.

We hope you enjoy this sneak peek, but I have to warn you, it was very hard for me to narrow down the quantity of images to post, so please bear with me as I indulge in my creativeness and heart’s content.  I was on a roll and kept finding new and exciting things to do with images, it was like a candy shop!

Congratulations Jake & Kaity!!!  Thank you for allowing us to be part of your special day!

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve seen a bunch of guys and girls be this aggressive or excited by getting the garter or bouquet than this bunch, it was hilarious to watch!

Tim + Ashley = LOVE 12/5/09

Posted on December 18, 2009

It was a brisk December day, the sun was shining and the ground was covered lightly with snow.  On this day, Tim and Ashley were joined together as husband and wife.  The setting took place at the most AMAZING little chapel I’ve ever been to.  The name of the chapel is The Middlebury Church , nestled up in the hills of Barneveld, WI it was the perfect location.  To top off the perfect little setting, the ceremony began by candlelight as the sun set over the horizon.  The chapel was lit by warm, glowing candlelight and twinkle lights wrapped around two Christmas trees.  It was breathtakingly gorgeous, to say the least and we are honored to have been a part of Tim and Ashley’s special day.

Without further ado, we hope you like this sneak peek….  Congratulations Tim and Ashley!
