“Totally 80′s” Photoshoot…

On Sunday I attended an event that was hosted by STUN Photography Group in Green Bay, WI.  The theme was “Totally 80′s”… don’t you just LOVE the 80′s!!!  The shoot took place at West High School in Green Bay, WI and models from all around WI joined in on the fun.  The group is for the sake of fellow photographers and models to get together, network, learn, teach, share ideas and just have some good ol’ fun.

The reason I LOVE going to these types of events is because this gives me a chance to experiment with different techniques, lighting situations, and forces me to take out my creative hat and apply it.  Networking and meeting other photographers is another reason these types of events are awesome… it gives us a chance to talk shop, learn from each other and potentially start great friendships.

All of the following images were set up, posed and lighted by myself, that’s another reason why I attend this particular groups’ events, they just set the time and place and we, photographers, do all the rest.  I had a great time and feel this was great timing to get me back into the swing of things for the upcoming wedding season… yep, it begins this Saturday!!!  I’m so excited… and nervous.  But I believe it’s good to be nervous, if I wasn’t, then I think something might be wrong.

“Heavy Metal” Photoshoot

As we, Bill and I, are always looking for ways to learn, expand and broaden our photography skills, I attended a photo shoot last Sunday on the 17^th.  Bill, being the awesome guy he is, stayed home so he could take care of the kids, as I went out and played.  I just adore him!!

The theme of this photo shoot was called “Heavy Metal” and let me tell you it certainly was “Heavy Metal”.  A local photography group, STUN, was the host of this shoot.  They rounded up around 50 models, had hair and make-up stylists on hand, and had costume changes throughout the shoot.  They also brought in some vintage cars and the shoot took place at a real working machine shop.  From 12-4, we photographers could shoot to our hearts content using anything and everything the place had to offer.  Creativity was a must and I must admit I was like a little girl in a theme park.  Every time I turned around I saw new opportunities, amazing models and great ideas other photographers were coming up with.

I had so much fun at this amazing event that I wanted to share with our fans some of the images that were created from this day.  I have to admit; this day reminded me of why I love photography and definitely got my creative juices flowing again.

Milwaukee Model Shoot

On May 9th, 2009 Bill and I had the most wonderful opportunity to get together with some fantastic photographers from the Milwaukee, WI area.  During this get together our friend, Ben Quast of Royale Photography, organized a full day model shoot.  We had such a blast meeting everyone and taking photos!!  The models were awesome and the couples were so much fun to be around!  We all gathered at an awesome salon called Tease Salon, if you are ever in the area, please check it out, there are very talented people running this place.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the models for allowing us to photograph you!!  And another BIG THANK YOU to Tease Salon for allowing us to use your salon!  Lastly, a BIG THANK YOU to Ben for inviting us!
